Tonight I Can Write The Sweetest Lines

I can write the happiest poem of all tonight.

Write, for instance: "The night is full of stars,
and the stars, blue, are shining in the distance."

The night wind whirls in the sky and sings.

I can write the happiest poem of all tonight.
I love him always, and he loves me too.

On nights like this, he held me in his arms.
I kissed him so many times under the infinite sky.

He loves me, and always, I love him too.
How could I not love his large, still eyes?

I can write the happiest poem of all tonight.
To think that I have him. To feel that I've found him.

To hear the immense night, more immense with him.
And the poem falls to the soul as dew to grass.

What matters most is that my love is enough to keep him.
The night is full of stars and I'm wishing he is with me.

That's all. Far away, someone sings. Far away.
My soul was found because of him.

As if to bring him near, my eyes search for him.
My heart searches for him and he would always be with me.

The same night that whitens the same trees.
We, we who are, we are not the same but happy together.

I love him, true, but how much I love him more and more.
My voice searched the wind to touch his ear.

He will always belong to my kisses.
His voice. His heavy body. His infinite eyes.

He loves me, true, but perhaps I love him more.
What we'd only hope for is that love to last so long.

Because on nights like this I held him in my arms,
And my soul was found because of him.

This would be the first of many feelings he would cause me,
and this may be the first poem I write for him.

- - A poem ripped from Pablo Neruda's "Tonight I could write the saddest lines" and transformed it to my own.

aaaah, love. :)

Dedicated to that cheesy boy from this mushy girl.
